Wrestlers pick up pair of wins at Keystone

A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta wrestling team picked up a pair of dual meet wins yesterday defeating both Keystone College and Thaddeus Stevens College.  The two wins raise Oneonta's overall record to 7-3.
 
The Inside Story
Oneonta's first match of the day was against host Keystone where they defeated them 44-6.  The Red Dragons won eight of the ten weight classes including five via pinfall.  Those individuals posting pins in the match were senior Anthony Romero (Spring Valley/Ramapo) (133), junior Michael Blando (Massapequa/Massapequa) (141), graduate student Tyler Brazinski (Johnson City/Johnson City) (165), sophomore Kenneth Sauer (Franklin/Franklin) (184) and senior Steven Bilali (Eastchester/Eastchester) (197).  Freshman Anderson Klosner (Ilion/Central Valley Academy) (149) and junior Ryan Meisner (Lindenhurst/Lindenhurst) (157) posted victories via decision and a technical fall respectively.
 
Oneonta posted a 60-0 shutout of Thaddeus Stevens winning all 10 weight classes while picking up three more pins.  Meisner, Brazinski and senior Jacob Pine (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls) (285) all recorded pins for the Red Dragons in the match.  Brazinski's pin came just 23 seconds into the opening period.
 
Sophomores Noah Kennedy (Greene/Greene), Diego Orellana (Ossining/Ossining) and Peter Sacco (Vestal/Vestal) along with junior Nick Vandenburg (Rotterdam/Schalmont) all registered exhibition wins on the day.
 
What's Next
Oneonta is scheduled to host a quad meet next Saturday with Ithaca, Wesleyan and Williams beginning at noon.
