The SUNY Oneonta men's track & field team traveled to Hamilton College on Friday to compete in the Continental Invitational. Five weeks out from the SUNYAC championships, many top performances were posted along with a school record.

The Inside Story
The top performance of the day was turned in by sophomore
Richard Mangogna (Kings Park/Kings Park) who reset his own school record in the pole vault. In winning the event, he cleared 4.40 meters (14'-5 ¼"), inching past his previous record of 4.36 meters. Mangogna also posted personal best times in the 200-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles.

Joining Mangogna with PRs in the 200 were sophomores
Alec Weiss (Selden/Newfield),
Aidan Kelly (Farmingdale/Farmingdale) and
Michael Carey (Washingtonville/Washingtonville). Kelly also posted a personal best time in the 60 hurdles (9.68 seconds).

Junior
Chris Ganley (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) turned in a personal best performance in the 60-meter dash placing second overall with a time of 7.22 seconds.

Sophomore
Luke Jarski (Massapequa/Massapequa) took first place in the 800-meter run crossing with a personal best time of 2:00.54.

Three runners ran personal best times in the 1-mile run led by sophomore
Jonthomas Bierman (Mamaroneck/Mamaroneck) who placed fifth in a time of 4:32.31. The other two PRs were posted by sophomore
Shane Marchese (Washingtonville/Washingtonville) (4:49) and freshman
Nicholas Festa (Cornwall/Cornwall Central) (5:13).

Four athletes ran personal best times in the 3K, as sophomores
Eion McClain (Andover, NJ/Pope John XXIII),
John Balk, Jr. (Suffern/Suffern),
Alex Chamak (New City/Clarkstown North) and
Joseph Ayala (New Paltz/New Paltz) finished 4
th, 5
th, 7
th and 8
th respectively.

Sophomore
Vincent Zheng (Nanuet/Nanuet) placed third in the shot put with a personal best mark of 12.42 meters (40'-9").

In the weight throw, four individuals recorded personal best marks led by junior
Miles Moliterni (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) who finished second in the event with a distance of 14.67 meters (48'-1 ¾"). Additionally, Senior
D'Shaun Ricketts (Mount Vernon/Mount Vernon), sophomore
James Tumia (Rochester/Greece Arcadia) and freshman Marco Altieri all posted personal best marks in the event.
