The Inside Story
Oneonta jumped on the board just 1:18 into the game when Megan Foiles (Pearl River/Pearl River) found Nicolette Lospitalier (Farmingdale/Farmingdale) for her first goal of the season. Plattsburgh tied the game on a Caroline Noia goal on a free position shot. The Cardinals took a 3-1 lead on a pair of Emily Caoili goals just 26 seconds apart. The Red Dragons would pull within one when Megan Foiles (Pearl River/Pearl River) assisted Margaret Byrne (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) on a man-up goal. Plattsburgh respond with back-to-back goals on free position shots to take a 5-2 advantage. After Oneonta's Sophia Calabrese (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central) netted man-up goal, Plattsburgh scored another goal on a free position shot to make the score 6-3.

Sophia Calabrese (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central) tallied her second goal of the game with 14:39 remaining in the half on a feed from Rachel Morris (East Greenbush/Columbia) to cut the Red Dragons deficit to 6-4. After the two teams exchanged free position goals, Calabrese completed the hat-trick on a man advantage goal to make the score 7-6 in favor of Plattsburgh. With 6:15 remaining in the half, Rachel Morris (East Greenbush/Columbia) knotted the game at 7-7 with a free position goal. Just 45 seconds later, Lauren Sullivan (Pearl River/Pearl River) gave Oneonta the lead for good on an assist from Ana Stiso (Latham/Shaker). Oneonta extended their lead to 11-7 on goals from Deirdre Buckley (Merrick/Kellenberg Memorial) and Margaret Byrne (Poughkeepsie/Arlington), before freshman Marissa Evans (Jamesville/LaFayette) tickled the twine for her first collegiate maker with 1:22 left in the half. Plattsburgh got a late goal on a free position shot as Oneonta took an 11-8 advantage into the break.

After the two teams exchanged tallies to start the half, Oneonta broke the game open with seven unanswered goals to take a 19-9 lead. Sophia Calabrese (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central) paced Oneonta with a team-high four goals. Rachel Morris (East Greenbush/Columbia) and Megan Foiles (Pearl River/Pearl River) chipped in with four points apiece, each netting a pair of goals while dishing out two assists. Nicolette Lospitalier (Farmingdale/Farmingdale), Deirdre Buckley (Merrick/Kellenberg Memorial), Lauren Sullivan (Pearl River/Pearl River), and Margaret Byrne (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) added two goals apiece, while Lily Avazis (Port Washington/Schreiber) contributed a goal and a pair of assists. Freshman Jaclyn Jackowski (Commack/Commack) also scored her first collegiate goal with 13:41 remaining in regulation.

"After a rough start, I was happy to see us bounce back to our normal selves and get all the players involved today", said head coach Brandi Lusk. "We are certainly running the gauntlet this week with five games in a seven-day span, so we know we will have to overcome a lot mentally and physically this week, but we are up for the challenge."
