After Cortland jumped out to a 2-0 lead, Oneonta senior
Sophia Calabrese (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central) ripped a shot into the top of the Cortland net for her 100
th career goal. Cortland responded by going on a 5-0 run to take a commanding 7-1 advantage.
Sophia Calabrese (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central) ended Cortland's run with her second of the game with 5:56 remaining in the half. Just 1:05 later
Maggee Sheridan (Warwick/Warwick Valley) scored on a man-advantage opportunity, cutting the Cortland lead to 7-3. Calabrese completed the first half hat-trick with an unassisted goal, sending Cortland into the half with a 7-4 advantage.
Cortland opened the second half with three goals in just over four minutes to go in front 10-4. Oneonta climbed back into the game when they rolled off three straight goals of their own.
Deirdre Buckley (Merrick/Kellenberg Memorial) netted her third maker of the season when
Rachel Morris (East Greenbush/Columbia) threaded a pass to her in front of the Cortland net. Senior
Christen Patalano (Mineola/Kellenberg Memorial) netted back-to-back goals to pull the hosts within striking distance at 10-7. Cortland put the game out of reach when they went on a 4-0 run.
Tessa Hughes (Delmar/Bethlehem Central) and
Christen Patalano (Mineola/Kellenberg Memorial) scored a pair of late goals for Oneonta.
