The Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference released its initial award winners for the 2021-22 season and SUNY Oneonta graduate student Tyler Brazinski (Johnson City/Johnson City) was tabbed as Co-Wrestler of the Week for his performance to open the season.
 
This past Saturday, Brazinski posted an unblemished 5-0 record in leading the Red Dragons to a second-place finish at the Electric City Duals hosted by the University of Scranton. Two of his victories were by pinfall in the identical time of 20 seconds.
 
Last weekend, Brazinski opened the season at the Lycoming Invitational by posting three victories, all via pinfalls.  Two of his pins were under 45 seconds.
 
Wrestling at 165 pounds for the first time of his collegiate career, Brazinski is 8-0 with five pins.  Now in his fifth year as a Red Dragon, Brazinski previously wrestled at 149 pounds.
 
Oneonta will compete this Saturday in the New York State Collegiate Championships at SUNY Cortland.
