The SUNY Oneonta women's volleyball team was swept by visiting Brockport tonight in the Alumni Field House Dewar Arena. The loss for the Red Dragons dropped them to 4-16 overall and 3-5 in the SUNYAC while Brockport moves to 15-6 overall and 6-2 in the conference.

The Inside Story
Oneonta led early 5-3 after a service ace by
Annalisa Alicea (Poughkeepsie/Arlington). Brockport rallied with four straight points to take a 6-5 lead. The two teams then took turns with the lead until the Golden Eagles broke open the set with six unanswered points to take a commanding 22-16 advantage. Brockport closed out the opening set 25-16.

In set no. 2, Brockport jumped out to a 10-4 lead before the Red Dragons clawed its way back to grab a 13-11 lead. Brockport countered with a 7-2 run to take the lead for good en route to a 25-19 win.

Once again, the Golden Eagles jumped out early to gain a 10-4 lead in the third set. Oneonta stormed back with a 6-2 spurt to tie the score at 12 apiece. Brockport then scored four straight points and never looked back closing out the match 25-15.

Just the Stats
Brockport recorded 47 kills in the match led by sophomore Megan Loomis who had 15. The Red Dragons finished with 22 kills led by
Ashanti Davis (Cortlandt Manor/Hendrick Hudson) and
Caitlin Christie (Bay Shore/Bay Shore) who each had six. Both squads collected eight blocks.

What's Next
Oneonta will conclude its SUNYAC regular season at home tomorrow with a match against Geneseo beginning at 2:30pm in the Dewar Arena.
