A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta wrestling team defeated Oswego 29-14 Wednesday evening at G. Hal Chase Gymnasium. The win lifts the Red Dragons record to 10-7 on the season while Oswego falls to 5-9.

The Inside Story
Michael Smith (Smithtown/Smithtown West) got Oneonta off on the right foot with a 15-5 major decision over Daniel Fishman in the 125-pound match. The Red Dragons added to the lead when Andrew DeSousa (Smithtown/Smithtown West) earned an 8-3 decision over Kaleb Carreon in the 133-pound bout.  Senior Ahken Chu (Patterson/Carmel) followed with an 18-0 technical fall in 4:34 to give Oneonta a 12-0 lead.  Classmate Tyler Brazinski (Johnson City/Johnson City) garnered an 8-0 major decision in the 149-pound match to put the Red Dragons in front 16-0.
 
The Lakers would rally to take the next three matches to cut the Oneonta lead to 16-14. Steven Bilali (Eastchester/Eastchester) got the Red Dragons back on track in the 184 -pound match when earned a 10-3 decision over Colby Harblin. Freshman Jhordyn Innocent (Spring Valley/Ramapo) clinched the win for Oneonta when scored a major decision in the 197-pound match to make the score 23-14. In the final match of the night, Jacob Pine (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls) wrestled up a weight class and pinned his opponent in 3:28 to give the Red Dragons the 29-14 victory.

What's Next
The Red Dragons return to action on Sunday, February 9th when they travel to RIT for the Tiger Duals beginning 11:00am.
