The SUNY Oneonta wrestling team lost all three of their matches at the John Reese Duals Sunday afternoon at Wilkes University. Oneonta dropped its first match of the day 40-6 to Springfield College before falling to Nationally Ranked TCNJ 44-3. The Red Dragons wrapped up the day with a 24-19 setback to Wilkes.

The Inside Story
Against Springfield, Ahken Chu (Patterson/Carmel) and Tyler Brazinski (Johnson City/Johnson City) earned the points for Oneonta. Chu earned a 6-4 decision over Chase Parrot in the 141-pound bout while Brazinski bested Michael Vietri with a 7-2 decision.

Sophomore Steven Bilali (Eastchester/Eastchester) got the Red Dragons lone win against The College of New Jersey when he earned a decision over Kal-El Corbitt in the 184-pound bout.

After falling behind 6-0 early against Wilkes, Andrew DeSousa (Smithtown/Smithtown West) knotted the match at 6-6 when he pinned Jack Bauer in 4:08. Trailing 12-6, Tyler Brazinski (Johnson City/Johnson City) cut the deficit to 12-9 with a 6-1 decision over Cody Dix in the 149-pound bout. With Wilkes leading 15-9, senior Thomas Marrone (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) pulled Oneonta within two points with a 10-2 major decision over Xavier Barber in the 165-pound bout. After Red Dragons fell behind 21-13 with a pin in the 174-pound match, Steven Bilali (Eastchester/Eastchester) kept Oneonta's hopes alive with an 8-2 decision over Brady Mitchell. Jhordyn Innocent (Spring Valley/Ramapo) cut the deficit to 21-19 with a 7-4 decision in the 197-pound bout, but Oneonta dropped the heavyweight bout and the match 24-19.
