The SUNY Oneonta women's lacrosse team wrapped up the regular season with a 19-4 win over Fredonia in SUNYAC action Saturday afternoon at Red Dragon Field

Oneonta (9-8, 5-4 SUNYAC) led from start to finish, scoring five unanswered goals to start the game. Senior
Kelsey Cohen (Baldwin/Baldwin) scored three of the first five goals while
Sophia Calabrese (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central) and
Shannon Giddens (Franklin Square/H Frank Carey) tallied the other two. After Fredonia got on the board in the 11
th minute, the Red Dragons responded with the next six goals of the game to take a commanding 11-1 lead.
Lily Avazis (Port Washington/Schreiber) got the run started with her 22nd goal of the year before
Shannon Giddens (Franklin Square/H Frank Carey) and
Sophia Calabrese (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central) scored with a man-down to make the score 8-1.
Rachel Morris (East Greenbush/Columbia) would tickle the twine for the sixth time of the season before
Deirdre Buckley (Merrick/Kellenberg Memorial) netted back to back goals to cap off the run. The two teams exchanged goals before halftime, with Oneonta's maker coming from
Kelsey Cohen (Baldwin/Baldwin).
Lily Avazis (Port Washington/Schreiber) opened the second half scoring on a feed from
Kelsey Cohen (Baldwin/Baldwin) to up the Oneonta lead to 13-2.
Maggee Sheridan (Warwick/Warwick Valley) got in on the scoring at the 5:51 mark before
Lauren Bascelli (Williston Park/Herricks) scored on with man advantage to make it 15-2. The Blue Devils were able to sneak one past Oneonta goalie
Jaclyn Marry (Long Beach/Long Beach) at 17:53 before
Erin Fowler (East Meadow/East Meadow),
Kelly Clarke (East Meadow/East Meadow) and
Maggee Sheridan (Warwick/Warwick Valley) netted consecutive goals to wrap up the scoring for Oneonta.
Kelsey Cohen (Baldwin/Baldwin) finished the game with a game high four goals while
Shannon Giddens (Franklin Square/H Frank Carey) had five points on the day with two goals and three assists.
Lauren Bascelli (Williston Park/Herricks) added a goal and three assists while
Lily Avazis (Port Washington/Schreiber) contributed two goals and a pair of assists. Senior goalie
Jaclyn Marry (Long Beach/Long Beach) made ten saves in net for the Red Dragons.

The Red Dragons return to action on Tuesday, April 30th when they travel to Oswego for the opening round of the SUNYAC Tournament at 4:00 p.m.
