The Inside Story
Oneonta (8-6, 4-2 SUNYAC) had ten different athletes find the back of the net, with six of them scoring at least a hat-trick. Senior Kelsey Cohen (Baldwin/Baldwin) paced the Red Dragons with eight points, scoring a team high five goals, including her 50th of the season while dishing out three assists. Deirdre Buckley (Merrick/Kellenberg Memorial) chipped in with four goals while Sophia Calabrese (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central), Lauren Bascelli (Williston Park/Herricks), Victoria Varone (Commack/Commack), and Lily Avazis (Port Washington/Schreiber) had three goals apiece. Avazis also had three assists to finish six points.

The Red Dragons were relentless on defense as they caused eight turnovers as a team with Kelly Clarke (East Meadow/East Meadow), Sophia Calabrese (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central) and Christen Patalano (Mineola/Kellenberg Memorial) gathering two apiece. Oneonta won 18-of-28 draw controls while outshooting Plattsburgh by a 37-13 margin.

Goalie Lexi Keen (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) made four stops, all in the first half to earn her third win of the season.
