The SUNY Oneonta women's lacrosse team fell to Brockport 18-7 in SUNYAC action Saturday afternoon at Red Dragon Field.
 
The Inside Story
Oneonta (7-6, 3-2 SUNYAC) got on the board 1:27 into the game when Lauren Bascelli (Williston Park/Herricks) connected with Victoria Varone (Commack/Commack) for her 20^th goal of the season. Brockport (11-1, 6-0 SUNYAC) responded with four unanswered goals. Kelsey  Cohen ended the Brockport run at the 10:55 mark to cut the Red Dragons deficit to 4-2.

The Golden Eagles added to their lead with two free position goals by Heather Conklin and a Hannah Cullen maker to go in front 7-2. The Red Dragons climbed back into the game with goals from Maggee Sheridan (Warwick/Warwick Valley) and Victoria Varone (Commack/Commack). A Brockport goal in the 27^th minute by Allison Jennings gave the Golden Eagles an 8-4 advantage at halftime.

Brockport opened the second half with three straight goals before Oneonta's Christen Patalano (Mineola/Kellenberg Memorial) netted her seventh goal of the season to make the score 11-5. Brockport put the game out of reach with three more unanswered goals to take a commanding 14-5 lead. Sophia Calabrese (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central) and Kelsey Cohen (Baldwin/Baldwin) added late goals for the Red Dragons.
Senior goalie Jaclyn Marry (Long Beach/Long Beach) made 11 saves in the loss as Brockport took 45 shots in the game.

The Red Dragons will look to get back on track when they host Plattsburgh on Wednesday, April 17^th at 4:00 p.m.
