Women's lacrosse falls to No. 17 St. John Fisher

A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta women's lacrosse team ended their four game winning streak with a 15-3 setback to No. 17 St. John Fisher Saturday afternoon.

The Inside Story
Lily Avazis (Port Washington/Schreiber) put the Red Dragons on the board at 27:15 mark of the first period with her seventh goal of the season. Victoria Varone (Commack/Commack) had Oneonta's second maker of the game 12:40 into the second half on a feed from Sophia Calabrese (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central).  Varone found the back of the net again with 2:24 remaining in regulation. Francesca Lawless (Massapequa/Massapequa), Emma Cremo (Delmar/Bethlehem Central) and Victoria Varone (Commack/Commack) had two caused turnover apiece while Kelsey Cohen (Baldwin/Baldwin) led the way with five shots. Jaclyn Marry (Long Beach/Long Beach) made 12 saves in net for Oneonta.

St. John Fisher outshot Oneonta 30-19 for the game. The Red Dragons were 17-for-25 on clear attempts with ten shots on goal.

The Red Dragons return to action on March, March 25th when they host Union at 5:00 p.m.
