Field hockey season comes to an end with SUNYAC Semifinal loss

A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team had their season come to an end with a 5-1 loss to Geneseo in the SUNYAC Semifinals. The Red Dragons complete their season with a record of 9-10.

The Inside Story
Geneseo scored 2:45 into the game on a penalty corner goal from Julia Kim. The score stayed the same until the 5:46 mark of the second quarter when Haley Clark squeezed a shot through Kristy Campana's (Melville/Walt Whitman) pads to make it 2-0. Haley Clark and Jordan Penkitis added goals before the break to give the Knights a 4-0 advantage at halftime.

Geneseo increased their lead to 5-0 when Julia Kim scored on a loose ball in front 3:45 into the second half. Oneonta got on the board in the 57th minute when senior Jessica Kehoe (Greene/Greene) redirected a Sophia Little (Northport/Northport) shot for her third goal of the season.

Just the Stats
Oneonta goalie Kristy Campana (Melville/Walt Whitman) kept the Red Dragons in the game early with six saves in the first half. The sophomore finished with nine saves while Carly Waszczak (Northport/Northport) made a defensive stop as well.
