Box Score The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team fell to non-conference rival Hartwick College 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon at All College field. The Hawks improve to 2-0 with the win while the Red Dragon slip to 1-2.
Oneonta jumped out to a 1-0 lead when
Alise Anson (Stone Ridge/Rondout Valley) found the back of the net on a rebound in front.
Despite outshooting Hartwick 21-9, the Red Dragons were unable to find the back of the net for the remainder of the game.
Hartwick tied the contest in the 23
rd minute when Perry Willett scored on a pass from Rebecca Peakes. The Hawks took the lead for good 1:04 later on an Allyson Quirk goal, putting Hartwick in front 2-1 at the break.
Perry Willett added an insurance goal in the 66
th minute when she broke the boards after dodging an Oneonta defender in front.
Hartwick goalie Allyson Osborne made seven stops to remain undefeated for the young season. Senior Carly Olson made one save in the loss while teammate
