The SUNY Oneonta wrestling team earned a second-place finish with a 4-1 record at the Electric City Duals Sunday afternoon.
 
Oneonta's lone loss came in a 23-18 defeat to Muhlenberg to start the day. Michael Savello (Kings Park/Kings Park) (125) and Anken Chu (141) won their respective weight classes by decision, while Peter Pjetri (Suffern/Suffern) pinned Muhlenberg's Gennaro Cerminara in 14 seconds in the 197 pound weight class. Senior James Bethel (Saugerties/Saugerties) took the heavy weight match by forfeit while Oneonta's Michael Smith (Smithtown/Smithtown West) took a major decision over Alex Helpin in the 133 pound exhibition match.
 
The Red Dragons rebounded with an 42-8 win over Keystone in their second match of the day. After Tyler Skala (East Quogue/Westhampton Beach) earned a win by forfeit, Andrew DeSousa (Smithtown/Smithtown West) pinned Issac Medina in two minutes in the 133 pound weight class. Jorncarl Petretti (Shoreham/Shoreham Wading River),  Thomas Marrone (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) and Peter Pjetri (Suffern/Suffern) each collected a win via a forfeit while Steven Bilai, Austin Carr (Guilford/Bainbridge-Guilford) won by decision. Jonathan Solorzano (Lindenhurst/Lindenhurst) capped off the match with a pin of Cameron Smith in 4:41.
 
Oneonta then earned an impressive 55-0 victory over Temple, sweeping all ten weight classes. Andrew DeSousa (Smithtown/Smithtown West) gathered his second win of the day when he pinned Anthony Zayas in 1:16. Ahken Chu (Patterson/Carmel) took the 141 pound weight class with a pin of Andy Youn in 2:02. Michael Muldoon (Mahopac/Mahopac) took a major decision over Temple's Nick Sisiomnai before Thomas Marrone (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) pinned Christian Perfucci in 1:01.  After Timothy Rathbun, Jr. (Mohawk/Central Valley Academy) won by decision in in the 174 pound weight class, Autin Carr Pinned Tom Deaver in 54 seconds in the 184 pound weight class.  Lantze Lange (Smithtown/Smithtown West) also captured a pin in the 197 pound weight class while Peter Oliveto (Suffern/Suffern) earned a major decision in the 165 pound exhibition match.
 
In Oneonta's fourth match of the day, the Red Dragons defeated Lackawanna 30-13. Steve Pocze (Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock Township) started the match with an 11-6 decision over Mike Tuffy in the 125 pound class.  Tyler Brazinski (Johnson City/Johnson City) then pinned Bartley Novak in the first period. In the 165 pound weight class, Thomas Marrone (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) earned his third win of the day with an 8-3 decision over Thomas Fell. The Red Dragons finished the match with back-to-back pins by Peter Pjetri (Suffern/Suffern) and James Bethel (Saugerties/Saugerties).
 
The Red Dragons capped off a successful day with a 41-9 win over Scranton in the final match. Michael Savello (Kings Park/Kings Park) earned his third win of the day when he defeated Matthew Murawski by default. Andrew DeSousa (Smithtown/Smithtown West) then pinned his third opponent of the day, beating Scranton's A.J. Sortino in 1:16. Ahken Chu (Patterson/Carmel) and Tyler Brazinski (Johnson City/Johnson City) earned consecutive wins by decision, before Joncarl Petretti and Thomas Marrone (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) had back-to-back pins for the Red Dragons. After Austin Carr (Guilford/Bainbridge-Guilford) won via a technical fall, James Bethel (Saugerties/Saugerties) capped off the day with a pin of Keegan Connelly in 2:29.
