Box Score The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team fell to New Paltz 2-1 in double-overtime Friday evening in SUNYAC action. The loss drops the Red Dragons record to 10-6 overall and 5-1 in the SUNYAC. The Red Dragons will now be the second seed in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament which begins on Wednesday, October 31
st.

The two teams battled to a scoreless tie in the first half of action. New Paltz outshot Oneonta 7-2 with a 3-2 advantage in penalty corners.

Carissa Warren (Harpursville/Harpursville) was awarded a penalty stroke. Warren lifted the shot into the top left corner of the net to give the Red Dragons a 1-0 lead.

Oneonta held the lead until the 63
rd minute when Shannon Bernhardt redirected a Samantha Ackerman shot to knot the game at 1-1. Both teams had their opportunities in the second half, but New Paltz outshot the Red Dragons by a 7-3 margin.

In the first overtime, Oneonta had their chances to put the game away with two penalty corners, but the Hawks held their ground to force a second overtime. The Hawks would get the golden goal 3:17 into the second overtime when Shannon Bernhardt fed Jessica Ascencao, who broke the boards from the top of the circle on a penalty corner.
