Wilkes-Barre, PA. The SUNY Oneonta wrestling team swept the competition going 3-0 at the John Reese Duals hosted by Wilkes University on Sunday. The Red Dragons faced off against Lackawanna, Washington & Jefferson and Wilkes University. At the conclusion of the duals, the Red Dragons improved its dual record to 10-2.
 
The Red Dragons opened up the duals in round one with Lackawanna with a decisive victory 43-5. For the Red Dragons sophomore Kevin Knox (Stormville/Carmel) (133 lbs), senior Matt Marino (Nesconset/Sachem North) (149 lbs) and junior Daniel Murphy (Poughkeepsie/Roy C. Ketcham) (157 lbs) all won via fall.
 
In the second round, Oneonta handed Washington & Jefferson a loss 30-24. In the match senior Austin Sisco (Denville, NJ/Pope John) (133 lbs), junior Ryan Marszal (Unadilla/Unatego) (165 lbs) and senior James Bethel (Saugerties/Saugerties) (285 lbs) each beat their opponents via pin.
 
In the final matchup of the day the Red Dragons took on the Wilkes University Colonels. The Red Dragons took the match 24-20 including pins in the last three weight classes to seal the victory. At 184 lbs. Lantze Lange (Smithtown/Smithtown West) beat his opponent via pin in 4:06. In the 197 lbs. class Peter Pjetri (Suffern/Suffern) pinned his opponent in 4:03 and at heavyweight Bethel pinned his opponent in 1:46.
 
The Red Dragons are back in action at a quad meet hosted by Wesleyan with Williams and Ithaca in attendance on February 3^rd.
