Wilkes-Barre, PA. The SUNY Oneonta wrestling team overpowered King's College 49-3 tonight in a midweek dual. The Red Dragons had three wrestlers win via pin, and the Monarchs forfeited four rounds enroute to Oneonta's seventh victory of the season (7-2).
The Red Dragons first pin came in the 157 lbs. class by sophomore
Tyler Brazinski (Johnson City/Johnson City) when he took down Tony Immediato in 4:19. The next pin came two classes later in the 174 lbs. class when junior
Ryan Marszal (Unadilla/Unatego) pinned Darren Marte in 3:37. The final pin for the Red Dragons came in the 184 lbs. class by freshman
Austin Carr (Guilford/Bainbridge-Guilford) in 1:33.
In the 165 lbs. class, junior
Daniel Murphy (Poughkeepsie/Roy C. Ketcham) had a major decision over David White, 9-1. At 197 lbs. junior
Peter Pjetri (Suffern/Suffern) beat his opponent via decision, 10-3.
The Red Dragons jumped out to a 24-0 lead with forfeits at the opening four weight classes and King's lone victory came in the heavyweight class by Kyle Osterhound, 4-3.
