Oswego, NY. The SUNY Oneonta volleyball team leveled off in conference play after going 1-2 at the SUNYAC pool play held at Oswego State. The Red Dragons are now 3-3 in the SUNYAC and 9-14 overall. The lone victory on the weekend came against SUNY Potsdam as they beat the Bears in a full set, 3-2. In the other two matches the Red Dragons fell 3-1 to both Fredonia and Oswego State.
The Red Dragons won the first set 28-26 before dropping the next two sets 18-25, and 23-25. The Red Dragons battled back to take the next two sets, 25-18 and 15-11. In the victory over Potsdam, freshman
Clara Culeton (Oswego/Oswego) had a team high 16 kills. Classmate
Katelyn McDonough (Guilderland/Guilderland) had 24 digs and senior
Melissa Voyer (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) had six blocks.
In the match against Oswego, Culeton had another 11 kills to lead the Red Dragons and sophomore
Victoria Moulder (Wantagh/Kellenberg Memorial) had a team high four blocks. In the Fredonia match sophomore
Lindsay Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) had a team high 14 digs and
Jessica Fowler (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills) had 29 assists.
The Red Dragons are back in action against MIT on Saturday October 14
th at 10:30am.
