Time ran out today on a comeback effort for the SUNY Oneonta women's lacrosse team, as they fell 6-5 to host Scranton.  The Red Dragons trailed 6-3 with just under 14 minutes to go in the contest, but ran out of time in falling to 3-6 overall.

The overall stats for the game were just as even as you could get, as both teams ended up dead even in shots (17), saves (7) and successful clears (16).  Oneonta did have three less turnovers and two more ground balls in the game, but Scranton (6-4) held an 8-5 advantage in draw controls.

Freshman

Oneonta trailed, 3-1, at halftime as a pair of goals by Meghan Kerr broke the 1-1 deadlock.

The Red Dragons fell behind 4-1 early in the second half before back-to-back goals by junior

Taylor Casey (Garden City South/Kellenberg Memorial) just 32 seconds apart pulled Oneonta back to within a single goal.

The Royals scored the next two goals to put Oneonta in its 6-3 hole before charging hard in the final 14 minutes.  The eventual game-winner was scored by Kerr at the 13:27 mark.
