The SUNY Oneonta men's basketball team played consistent basketball tonight, putting up 45 points in each half en route to a dominating 90-52 victory against visiting Oswego. Oneonta (7-3/2-1 SUNYAC) shot 59 percent from the floor including 67 percent in the opening half, as they took a commanding 45-18 lead into halftime.

Oneonta, which leads the SUNYAC in field goal percentage, pushed it to nearly 50 percent overall (.498) after tonight's performance.

Four players scored in double figures tonight for Oneonta led by senior
Mikey McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs), who had a game high 16 points. Senior
Jackson Zuvic (Cold Spring/Haldane) hit three from long range en route to 15 points while junior
Lawrence Coleman (Croton on the Hudson/Hendrick Hudson) and
Jack Dignan (Brewster/Brewster) added 12 points and 10 points respectively. Dignan, who leads the SUNYAC in assists, fell one assist short of a triple-double, as he finished with nine assists and 10 rebounds.

Three separate runs proved to be too much for Oswego (8-2/1-2 SUNYAC) to overcome. Two of the runs were in the opening half while the third carried over to the start of the second half.

Nine unanswered points followed by 11 unanswered pushed a two-point lead to a 20-point lead with just over seven minutes to go in the first half. The Red Dragons closed the first half 10 straight points and opened the second half with eight more unanswered to put the game out of reach for the Lakers.

Senior Walter Sampson led Oswego with 10 points, as they only shot 30 percent from the floor.

Oneonta will play a pair of SUNYAC road games this weekend starting with SUNY Geneseo on Friday night beginning at 7:30pm. The Red Dragons will travel to Brockport on Saturday for a 4pm contest.
