The SUNY Oneonta men's soccer team opened its 2015 season tonight with a 2-0 shutout at Morrisville. The Red Dragons outshot the Mustangs 15-6 including nine shots on frame to Morrisville's three.

Both of Oneonta's goals came in the first half of play just five minutes apart. The opening goal came in the 28
th minute by senior
Jake Sutherland (Syracuse/West Genesee). Sutherland was able to chip a shot from about six meters past the keeper. The assist came from classmate
Jared Van Brunt (Sayville/Sayville).

Zef Saljanin (Yorktown Heights/Yorktown) took a thru ball from senior
Brian Bartichek (Massapequa Park/Massapequa) before beating the Mustang goalie for the 2-0 lead.

The Red Dragons used 23 players in tonight's opener. Oneonta held a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior
Vincent Pellegrino (Baldwin/Baldwin) only had to make three stops tonight while his counterpart, Rob Larkin, recorded seven saves for Morrisville.

Oneonta will be in action again this coming Friday afternoon at Wright National Soccer Campus, as they host the Mayor's Cup. The Red Dragons will play the second game of the day beginning at 4pm versus St. John Fisher.
