The SUNY Oneonta men's basketball team rolled up a season high 98 points enroute to a runaway win at New Paltz tonight 98-72.  Senior Zach Mager (New City/Clarkstown South) and sophomore Lawrence Coleman (Croton on Hudson/Hendrick Hudson) each scored 20 points to lead the Red Dragons.
 
Oneonta (9-9, 6-5 SUNYAC) put this away early with 10 unanswered points to break a 2-2 tie in the opening minutes of the contest.  A layup by junior Mikey McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) capped the run for the Red Dragons.  McElroy finished the game with 16 points.
 
Junior Jack Dignan (Brewster/Brewster) was the fourth player to reach double figures for Oneonta with 13 points off the bench.
 
Already leading 41-30 at halftime, Oneonta shot 59 percent in compiling 57 second half points.  Coleman scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half.  The Red Dragons also converted 27-of-33 free throws in the contest.
 
Oneonta outscored New Paltz (8-10, 6-5 SUNYAC) 42-28 in the paint.  They blocked six shots and registered 11 steals.
 
Oneonta returns home this Friday to face Plattsburgh.  Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30pm.
