The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team dominated the play, but fell today, 1-0, to the Houghton Highlanders. The game was the first home game for the Red Dragons this fall, as they played the first game on the newly turfed All College Field.
The Red Dragons brought an impressive offensive performance to the field, but couldn't sneak any goals past the Highlanders goalie Elizabeth Piszker, who recorded 22 saves in the contest. The Red Dragons had a season high in shots (38), shots on goal (22) and penalty corners (32).
The goal for the Highlanders came with a scant 42 seconds remaining in overtime, when Kristin McKane scored off an assist from Ashley Hughes.
The Red Dragons play next this coming Wednesday against the New Paltz Hawks at 4:00pm in New Platz.
