The SUNY Oneonta volleyball squad completed the sweep as host of the 45
th annual Oneonta Invitational. After using a pair of 3-1 victories last night, the Red and White held a clean sheet topping both Curry College and Lehman College by matching 3-0 scores.

In the first match of the day, junior
Jill Darpino (Endicott/Union Endicott) led the Dragons' attack with five kills, while rookie
Melissa Voyer (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) led the way with seven total attack attempts. Sophomore and All-Tournament Team selection
Erin Avery (Harpursville/Harpursville) and junior
Karly Greco (East Patchogue/Bellport) each dished out a team-high eight assists. On the service line, Greco (15), Avery (14), and
Paige Carpluk (Yaphank/Bellport) (11) dominated while combining for a dozen service aces. As a team, Oneonta out-dug Curry by a 21-4 count.

In the afternoon cap, the Red and White put their perfect record on the line against Lehman College. Darpino picked up where she left off registering eight kills on 10 attempts. Junior
Hannah O'Neil (Brookhaven/Bellport) was right behind Darpino chalking up seven kills on 13 attempts. Oneonta's offense showed its ability to operate as a unit as they, as a whole, handed out 40 assists. Avery and Greco again led the way with 14 apiece, while
Jessica Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) added nine of her own.

The Red Dragons used their 4-0 mark to capture the Oneonta Invitational Championship. Following the tournament, the coaches from each team voted on the following as the All-Tournament Team:

Oneonta returns to action next weekend when it travels to Ithaca to take part in the Bomber Invitational. The first match is slated for 4 p.m., the opponent yes yet to be determined. Â
