The SUNY Oneonta men's basketball completed its weekend sweep in the SUNYAC with a 72-67 home win today against Buffalo State.  Four players scored in double figures for Oneonta (4-19/3-13 SUNYAC) led by sophomore 
Zach Mager's (New City/Clarkstown South) 25 points and 13 rebounds.
Oneonta built itself a 42-26 halftime lead thanks to five three-pointers.  Mager scored 19 of his 26 in the opening half, which included four of Oneonta's five from long distance.  The Red Dragons began to create some space late in the first half, when they broke open a three-point game with 10 minutes to go.  A pair of free throws by sophomore 
Frankie Kelly (Brewster/Kennedy Catholic) gave Oneonta a 12-point lead with just under six minutes remaining in the opening half.
Kelly finished the game with 14 points, eight assists and three steals.  He also made 10-of-16 free throws including 4-of-6 down the stretch.
Oneonta had a 12-point lead at the 13:10 mark of the second half before a 12-2 run by Buffalo State (12-9/7-8 SUNYAC) cut the lead to two points with 10:18 left in the contest.  A jumper by sophomore Roderick Epps made the score 53-51.  Epps finished the game with 15 points.
It was still a three-point game with 7:34 to go when Oneonta opened up some breathing room on baskets by Mager and freshman 
Jackson Zuvic (Cold Spring/Haldane).  Zuvic scored eight points in the second half and finished the game with 10 points to go with eight rebounds.
Free throws down the stretch for Oneonta allowed them to build its lead back to 10 points with 42 seconds remaining.
Senior Jake Simmons, who had 19 points, led Buffalo State today.  In the game, Simmons became the first Bengal men's player to eclipse 2,000 career points.  The program's all-time leading scorer, Simmons now has 2,015 points.
Playing in his final home game for Oneonta today was senior 
Nick Sarchioto (Duanesburg/Bishop Gibbons), who finished the game with 10 points and five rebounds.
Oneonta will play the first of its final two regular season games this Tuesday night at Oswego.  Tip-off is scheduled for 8pm.
