The SUNY Oneonta wrestling team opened its home schedule today and came away with a split of a pair of matches.  The Red Dragons soundly defeated Alfred State, 49-3 before being edged out by Rhode Island College, 22-18.

The highlight of the day for Oneonta was senior Ben Mikac (Williamsville/Williamsville East) recording his 100th collegiate win.  He becomes only the fifth wrestler in the 50+ years to reach this milestone and the first since Josh Wake in 2010.  Mikac recorded a pair of wins today for Oneonta at 141 lbs. to bring his career total to 101.  He recorded a major decision against Patrick DaFoe while collecting a 3-1 decision against Ricondo Cole of RIC.

In addition to Mikac picking up two wins today in its team matches, senior Chad Obzud (Cohoes/Lansingburgh) recorded two pins and sophomore Shaun Gillen (Bohemia/Connetquot) had a pin and a decision for his two victories on the day.
