In its final fall dual match, the SUNY Oneonta women's tennis team came out with a 7-2 win against visiting Scranton at home.  The Red Dragons will now prepare for the SUNYAC tournament which begins next Friday at the Binghamton Tennis Center.

Oneonta (7-3) came out of the doubles portion of the match ahead 2-1 after wins at first and second doubles.  Junior Brynn Sussman (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) and senior Lauren Skolnick (Sayville/Sayville) won 8-1 at first doubles over Devon Cohen and Emily Walsh.  Seniors Emily Maggiore (Binghamton/Binghamton) and Colette Lankowicz (Sayville/Sayville) won by an identical score at second doubles versus Emily Machado and Megan Azzalina.

Lisa-Marie Lanciotti and Dana Ranney took third doubles by a score of 8-2 against freshman Olivia Stauffer (Huntington/Harborfields) and senior Abigail Smith (Seneca Falls/Mynderse Academy).

Sussman, Skolnick and Lankowicz all came back and won in straight sets at first, third and fourth singles respectively.  Sophomore Michelle Spencer (Homer/Homer) won at fifth singles while senior Jenna Conklin (Wilton/Saratoga Springs) won at sixth singles to round out the scoring for the Red Dragons.

The lone singles point for the Royals came at second singles, as Azzalina defeated Maggiore in straight sets at second singles.

Oneonta will face Fredonia in the first round of the SUNYAC tournament Friday beginning at 11:30am.  Oneonta is the No. 2 seed from the East and Fredonia is the No. 3 seed from the West.  The winner will advance into the semifinals on Saturday morning.  The championship match is scheduled for Sunday at 10am.
