The SUNY Oneonta women's tennis team finds itself in the SUNYAC tournament semifinals for a third straight year after defeating Fredonia 5-0 in the quarterfinals of the tournament being held at the Binghamton Tennis Center.  The Red Dragons will face SUNY Geneseo tomorrow morning at 11am in the semifinals.  The winner will play for the conference's automatic qualification berth to the NCAA tournament on Sunday morning.

Because Oneonta (8-3) reached its clinching fifth point during singles, the match ended with four matches unfinished in singles.

Oneonta started the match by sweeping through the doubles to take a 3-0 lead heading into singles.  Senior Lauren Skolnick (Sayville/Sayville) and junior Brynn Sussman (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) didn't surrender a game en route to a 8-0 win at first doubles.

Seniors Emily Maggiore (Binghamton/Binghamton) and Colette Lankowicz (Sayville/Sayville) won at second doubles, 9-7, against Miller Barmasse and Molly Zanetti.

Freshman Olivia Stauffer (Huntington/Harborfields) and senior Abigail Smith (Seneca Falls/Mynderse Academy) were victorious at third singles by a score of 8-4 over Stephanie Thompson and Emily Fulkerson.

The two clinching points in singles were earned by Sussman at first singles and Lankowicz at fourth singles, both wins came in straight sets.
