The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team travelled to Houghton College today and walked away with a convincing 4-0 victory.
Oneonta (7-4) put the game away in the first half as they netted three goals to take a 3-0 lead into the intermission.
Junior
Sierra Earle (Baldwinsville/Baldwinsville) scored her third of the season at the 19:56 mark to give the Red Dragons a 1-0 lead. Junior
Andrea Day (Greene/Greene) would score the next two goals, her first coming just six minutes later off a rebound by a
Kelcy Forbragd (Camden/Camden) shot that was blocked by a Houghton defender. Day would add to the lead in the first half scoring just two minutes before the halftime break off an assist from
Hannah Hayward (Glens Falls/Glens Falls).
Senior
Ashley Morgan (Putnam Valley/Putnam Valley) would add the final goal of the afternoon four minutes into the second half.
"The team played very well and worked together as a team for the victory", said coach
Kelly Kingsbury.
Krista Servedio (Shrub Oak/Lakeland) and
Tess Tracy (Liverpool/Liverpool) combined for the shutout, each making one save and playing half the game.
Oneonta will be at St. John Fisher tomorrow, October 6th, for a 1:00 pm start.
