The SUNY Oneonta women's volleyball team competed this weekend at SUNY New Paltz in the second of three SUNYAC pool play weekends. The Red Dragons came through 1-2, as they now stand 2-4 in the conference and 10-13 overall.
Oneonta opened its weekend last night with a 3-0 loss to Buffalo State. Sophomore
Jill Darpino (Endicott/Union Endicott) and senior
Natalia Poljak (Brewster/Brewster) led Oneonta with five kills apiece. Senior
Kristina Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) recorded 10 digs to lead the defense. Senior
Erica Darpino (Endicott/Union-Endicott) recorded six blocks.
This morning, Oneonta defeated Brockport 3-1 in its first match of the day. The Darpino sisters each collected seven kills to lead the attack. Pelaccio recorded a career-high 27 digs while adding a pair of service aces. Junior

Jessica Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) collected 14 and 13 assists respectively.Â
Erica Darpino (Endicott/Union-Endicott) led the Red Dragons with six blocks.
In the final match of the weekend, Oneonta was swept in three sets by host New Paltz. The Darpino's led Oneonta with five kills each. The Pelaccio sisters anchored the defense with 10 digs apiece.
Oneonta will be off until this coming Friday where they will compete in the Hartwick Invitational. Oneonta will face both Utica College and Lebanon Valley College on Friday.
