The SUNY Oneonta men's basketball team dropped a pair of road games this weekend in the SUNYAC.  Last night Oneonta (2-12/1-7 SUNYAC), lost to SUNY Potsdam 82-62 and fell today to Plattsburgh, 82-75.

In today's game, sophomore Zach Mager (New City/Clarkstown South) led three players in double figures with 26 points.  It was the fifth game this season and third game in the last four that Mager has scored over 20 points.  Back in December, Mager scored a collegiate best 40 points versus Brockport.  Mager is currently averaging 17 points per game to lead Oneonta.

The difference in today's game was in the first half where Plattsburgh was leading 40-33 at the break.  The two teams played even in the second half, both scoring 42 points.  Oneonta shot 53 percent from the floor for the game.

Freshman Jackson Zuvic (Cold Spring/Haldane) added 15 points today while sophomore Frankie Kelly (Brewster/Kennedy Catholic) scored 10 points.

Last night versus Potsdam, Oneonta had its best run at the end of the first half to cut a 14-point deficit to just four at halftime.  The Red Dragons outscored the Bears 16-6 over the final 4:33 to trail 38-34 at the break.

Potsdam put the game out of reach in the first nine minutes of the second half with a 23-7 run to go up by 20 points at 61-41.

Mager led Oneonta with 16 points, followed by Kelly, who had 14 points and freshman Jack Dignan (Brewster/Brewster), who scored 11 points.

Oneonta will host SUNY Cortland on Tuesday night beginning at 8pm.
