The SUNY Oneonta volleyball team came through with a 2-2 record at the final SUNYAC East Division pool play weekend hosted by New Paltz to finish 3-5 overall in conference matches. Oneonta (18-12) finished tied for third place with SUNY Potsdam, which means the two teams have to play a play-in game at Buffalo State to qualify for the SUNYAC tournament on Friday, Nov. 2 at noon. Buffalo won the West Division and earned the right to host to conference tournament.
In today's first match versus SUNY Potsdam, Oneonta won 3-1 (25-17, 24-26, 25-21, 25-19). This match tied the two teams with one match remaining for both. Both squads lost their matches to end in a tie for the final playoff spot, thus the reason for the play-in.
