The Oneonta State wrestling team defeated visiting Oswego 25-9 in the final home match of the 2012 season.  The Red Dragons won seven of the ten bouts including one pin for its sixth win of the season.

Before today's match began, Oneonta (6-8) honored it's seniors with a special presentation.  Seniors Carlos Soto (Brooklyn/Sheepshead Bay) and Jimmy Neal (Glens Falls/Glens Falls) recorded wins today for Oneonta in their final home matches of their careers.

Soto started the match with a major decision at 125 lbs. over Oswego (2-9) freshman Kevin Ramkishun, 18-7.  Sophomore Ben Mikac (Williamsville/Williamsville East) followed with a hard fought 3-1 decision versus Omar Santiago to give Oneonta a 7-0 lead.

Freshman Bradley Mayville picked up Oswego's first win at 141 lbs., a 4-0 win against Brian Barry (Poughkeepsie/Arlington), that cut the score to 7-3.

Oneonta then ran off four straight wins to build itself a 19-3 entering the 184 lbs. weight class.  Oswego senior, Cameron Mills, won an 11-5 decision over Stephen Provenzano (Islip/Islip) for the Lakers final win of the day.

Jake Smith (St. James/Smithtown) recorded a pin at 197 lbs. for Oneonta to essentially seal the victory.

Oneonta will be at King's this coming Wednesday night for a dual match beginning at 7pm.
