The Oneonta State volleyball worked together tonight to take a 3-1 win versus Scranton at home. The two squads battled closely for three of the four sets but, in the end, it was Oneonta (5-4) that prevailed, 25-21, 23-25, 25-14, 25-23.
Senior
Christina Fabiochi (Manorville/Eastport South Manor) (Manorville/Eastport South Manor) and junior
Kacy Boburka (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) were immense on the attack for the Red Dragons combining for 30 kills and only two errors. Fabiochi also added 17 digs and one block assist while Boburka had two block assists and 10 digs.
Junior
Brittany Calvello (Gloversville/Broadalbin-Perth) (Gloversville/Broadalpin-Perth) fueled the attack with a team high 36 assists while also registering 22 digs in the match. Senior
Jessica Zerega (New City/Clarkstown) (New City/Clarkstown) led the defensive effort with 23 digs.
Oneonta will be away this weekend competing at the Ducks Invitational hosted by Stevens Institute. The Red Dragons play the hosts at 4:00 p.m. followed by a match with Elmira at 6:00 p.m. The tournament concludes on Saturday afternoon.
