Box Score
With a late second half goal, the Oneonta Field hockey team came away with a 1-0 win over Union today in non-conference action. Senior
Ainsley Stoll (Williamsville/Williamsville North) (Williamsville) scored off of a penalty corner from freshman
Stephanie Fiske (Marathon/Marathon) (Marathon). The goal for Stoll was her third game-winning goal in as many games as the team remained undefeated in the early season.
Stoll and
Brianne Galli (Amherst) each had a shot in the first three minutes of the game to set the tone for the Red Dragons. Union came back and controlled the remaining first half with five penalty corners and three shots.
Similar to the first half, the second half was managed by Union yet again from the outset with a shot by Union's Alex King. The strength and experience of senior
Leslie Dauphinais (Harpursville/Harpursville) (Harpursville) in goal held Union at bay. She finished the game with nine saves on the day.
Oneonta is now 3-0 for the first time since 1994 when the team had a 4-0 start. They will be headed to Geneva, N.Y. this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. to face William Smith College.
