ONEONTA, N.Y.—SUNY Oneonta senior
Rachel Taylor (Southampton/Southampton) (Southampton) came up big for the Red Dragons scoring twice against Ithaca (3-5) in non-conference field hockey action. Oneonta (6-4) controlled most of the game shutting out the Bombers 3-0.
Ithaca did their best to keep an up paced tempo of play with multiple substitutions throughout the game but was unsuccessful in controlling the ball. Both teams had five shots in the first half but only the Red Dragons were able to capitalize. In the 18th minute of play Taylor was able to score off a penalty corner to put Oneonta up 1-0.
Oneonta made a quick statement to start off the second half. One minute and 12 seconds into the second half Taylor dribbled right up the middle and scored again putting the Red Dragons up 2-0. Taylor also added an assist on the day when she passed that ball to the middle where
Ainsley Stoll (Williamsville/Williamsville North) (Williamsville) recorded her 13th goal of the season in the 44th minute of the game to put the game out of reach for the Bombers.

Leslie Dauphinais (Harpursville/Harpursville) (Harpursville) and
Kellie Brocco (Kingston) shared time in goal today; Dauphinais had five saves while Brocco recorded her first save of the season.
Oneonta will be in action again this coming Saturday, October 2nd when they host New Paltz in conference action beginning at 1:00 p.m.
