ONEONTA, N.Y.— Senior
Ainsley Stoll (Williamsville/Williamsville North) (Williamsville) was at it again scoring her 15th and 16th goals of the season as the Red Dragons rolled past Scranton 4-2.
The tag team of Stoll and senior
Rachel Taylor (Southampton/Southampton) (Southampton) put the Red Dragons on the board in the 6th minute of the game. After being awarded a penalty Taylor took the corner, passed it in play to Stoll, where she winded up and slammed it into the goal putting Oneonta up 1-0.
In the 31st minute Stoll had a great opportunity but Scranton goalie Alexandria Marandino was able to make a sliding kick save to stop the ball.
In the 34th minute of play Taylor decided to take it upon herself to score for the Red Dragons as she dribbled up the middle past defenders and past the goalie.
Scranton felt the pressure as Kaitlyn Tirney put Scranton on the board 15 seconds later to end the first half; Oneonta 2, Scranton 1.
In the second half Stoll received the ball off a penalty corner and shot just wide of the goal where sophomore
Megan Warning (Lake Peeksill/Putnam Valley) (Putnam Valley) redirected the ball into the corner of the goal in the 38th minute of play.
Stoll and Taylor scored again in the second half identical to their first half goal. In the 41st minute Taylor pass the ball into play to Stoll of a penalty corner where Stoll shot it past defenders into the net to score the final goal for the Red Dragons.
Their next game will be at home on Friday, October 15th at 4:00 p.m. to face SUNY Oswego in heated conference action.
