SUNY Oneonta sophomore Brittney Reilly (LaGrangeville/Arlington) put a shot by the Fredonia keeper off of a rebound shot off the goal post by senior Melissa vandenBergh (Hopewell Jct/John Jay) in the 85th minute to lift the Red Dragons to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory against the Blue Devils in SUNYAC women's soccer action today at Red Dragon Field.  The goal capped a dominant performance in the second half that culminated in both scores coming in the final 10:28 of the contest.  For vandenBergh it was her first collegiate assist in her 72nd game for the Red Dragons.
The game-tying goal for Oneonta (5-1-1/2-0) came in the 80th minute on a shot from the right flank by sophomore Dana DeSimone (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) that seemed harmless until the Fredonia keeper tried to bat it out of bounds, but instead it caught the inside of the right post and rebounded into the goal.
Oneonta held a tremendous advantage in the game outshooting Fredonia (4-3-1/1-1) 23-5 including 13-2 in the second half when the Blue Devils had trouble possessing the ball into its attacking half of the field. The visitors got on the scoreboard early on a goal by sophomore Melissa Cummiskey (Clarence/Clarence), who took a pass from out of the back by freshman Madison Brown (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield).  Cummiskey carried the ball and freed her left foot for a shot that found its way to the back of the goal.
Oneonta nearly tied the score in the 25th minute on a shot by sophomore Alicia Vollmer (Liverpool/Liverpool) that was stopped by Fredonia defender Lisa Curtis (Rochester/Greece Arcadia) on the goal line.
In the 66th minute of play, Fredonia had a chance to go ahead by two goals, but was stymied by a leaping save that went over the top of the goal by Oneonta keeper Jamie Chyat (Staten Island/Staten Island Academy).  Chyat finished the game with two saves.
Oneonta will be in action again tomorrow when they host Buffalo State for a SUNYAC contest that begins at 1:00 p.m.
