Oneonta State Falls to William Smith 0-4

Kietzman Score Twice for Herons

     Freshman Annie Kietzman (Longmeaadow, MA/Longmeadow) scored a pair of goals to help visiting
William Smith take a 4-0 victory over host SUNY Oneonta on Saturday afternoon at Oneonta's All College Field. The victory moved the Herons to 4-0 on the year while the Red Dragons fell to 0-5.
     Junior Emily Atwan (Milton, MA/Pomfret) put the Herons ahead three-minutes into the game putting the ball into the goal off of a pass from senior Kaitlyn Hamilton (Harpursville/Harpursville).
     Kietzman made it 2-0, two and a half minutes later scoring her first goal of the day off a pass inside the circle from sophomore Kiersten Hamilton (Harpursville/Harpursville).
     The two teams then played 44-minutes without a goal before Kietzman struck again in the 50th minute of play tipping in a shot from senior Janelle Walkley (Tioga Center/Tioga) to give the Herons a 3-0 lead.
     Walkley then added a goal of her own two minutes later receiving a pass from Kiersten Hamilton and putting it in the goal to round out the days scoring.
     Oneonta goalie #Leslie Dauphinais (Harpursville/Harpursville)# finished the day with five saves on nine shots on goal while William Smith goalie Chelesa Snyder (Cortland/Cortland) made six saves in 52 minutes before giving way to Taryn Little (Wells, VT/Granville) who played the final 18 minutes and made one save.
     The Red Dragons will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Rensselaer for a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 p.m.
