Red Dragons score Six in Victory over Morrisville

Stoll scores three times for Oneonta in 6-0 shutout

Box Score

The damp and rainy weather didn't hinder junior #Ainsley Stoll (Williamsville/Williamsville North)#'s game plan on Friday afternoon. On a cool fall day with a light drizzle throughout the game, Stoll scored three times helping Oneonta to a 6-0 shutout victory over Morrisville on Oneonta's All College Field. With the win Oneonta improved to 3-1 in SUNYAC play and 6-7 overall, while the loss dropped Morrisville to 1-4 in the conference and 5-9 overall.
The Red Dragons jumped ahead in the 11th minute of play when sophomore #Jacqueline Camp (Queensbury/Queensbury)# collected a shot that had deflected off Morrisville goalie Kelsey Pellegrino (Cicero/Cicero-North Syracuse) and put it in the goal to make it 1-0.
Stoll then scored her first goal of the day in the 21st minutes reacing for a passed ball directly in front of the goal and finishing it to make it 2-0.
Eight minutes later Stoll connected again, this time collecting a ball inserted on a corner and sending a hard shot straight into the back of the goal from just inside the circle to give Oneonta a three goal lead.
The Red Dragons offense continued to dominate in the second half as junior #Aly Basher# opened the half with a goal off a pass from classmate #Aly Herzog# 8:56 into the half.
Three minutes later Stoll added her third goal of the day taking a shot off a deflected ball and putting it by Pellegrino to make it 5-0.
The Red Dragons final goal of the game came 20:34 into the second half when sophomore #Andrea Van Dyke (East Hampton/East Hampton)# got in on the scoring dribbling a ball into the circle and connecting for a goal to make it 6-0.
Junior #Leslie Dauphinais (Harpursville/Harpursville)# combined with junior #Emma Qualier# for the shutout in goal for Oneonta. Dauphinais made three saves in 56 minutes of play while Quailer didn't face a shot in 14 minutes of action.
The Red Dragons will return to action next Friday, October 16th when they travel to Oswego for a conference game beginning at 4:30 p.m.
