McLaughlin enters her first season with SUNY Oneonta after a successful playing career at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. She will serve as the Defensive Coordinator while running the Strength and Conditioning program.
At Slippery Rock, McLaughlin was a four-year member and three-year starter for the women’s lacrosse team. During her final two seasons, she was designated as the Captain of the defensive unit. She was nominated to the All-Conference team in 2015 and 2016 and was selected for the IWLCA Senior All-Star game in 2017. McLaughlin helped to lead the Rock to a 12-6 record in her senior season that included a seven-game win streak to start the year.
During last summer, McLaughlin ran a day camp for teenage girls in her hometown of Butler, Pa. The camp incorporated CrossFit and lacrosse skill building for High School girls ages 13-17. This past fall, she was a Special Olympics Unified Sports Coach and worked one-on-one with children with down syndrome in fitness related activities.
McLaughlin graduated in December from Slippery Rock with a degree in Physical Activity and Fitness Management with an emphasis in the areas of Coaching and Outdoor Adventure Fitness.
McLaughlin holds a Level 1 CrossFit training certification as well as an Olympic lifting certification from Attitude Nation.
