Holmes is entering his third season on the SUNY Oneonta men’s basketball coaching staff. He joined the program in August of 2015 as a student assistant.
The Albany, N.Y. native Holmes played two seasons of baseball at Fulton-Montgomery Community College where he received an Associate’s degree in General Studies in 2014. He then transferred to Oneonta where he graduated this past May with a Bachelor’s degree in History.
Holmes is very involved with the Oneonta basketball program as an assistant in recruiting for the program, social media, and managing study halls for the team. He also helps with community service, fundraising, and player development within the program.
A graduate of Shaker High School in Albany, NY, Holmes was a two year varsity athlete in basketball and baseball. In his senior season for basketball, the team won the Suburban Council Regular Season championship and went on to the semifinals of the section. He was also a part of the Shaker baseball team that was runner-up in the State tournament his junior year (2011).
Holmes is currently pursuing his master’s degree in School Counseling here at SUNY Oneonta. He will finish the program in the spring of 2018.
