Welcome to the SUNY Oneonta Athletics Giving Page! The mission of the Department of Athletics is to develop exemplary scholar-athletes: individuals who strive for competitive excellence, academic achievement and a commitment to service. If your interests and passions align with providing Oneonta student athletes with remarkable experiences, giving to any of the funds below will serve those interests. Each fund was created with kind and thoughtful energy to provide a vision for sustained athletics excellence. Athletic Department Fund This fund is used to enhance student-athlete opportunities and support the programs and special needs of intercollegiate athletics, intramurals and recreation. MAKE A GIFT - select "other" on designation pull down menu and write the name of the fund in the box.

 

Alumni Field House Endowment This fund is used to maintain and enhance the Alumni Field House as a high-end athletic, fitness, and entertainment complex. Specifically, the endowment supports sporting competitions, entertainers and other major events taking place in the 4,500-seat Dewar Arena, the Athletic Hall of Fame, equipment, and other building enhancements. Dining for Champions Student-Athlete Travel Fund This fund is used to support regional, national, and international travel expenses for nearly 450 student athletes and 21 varsity sport programs. Don Axtell Athletic Enhancement Endowment This fund was established to memorialize former Coach Don Axtell, Oneonta’s Baseball Head Coach from 1965-1995. This fund is used to enhance student athlete opportunities and support the programs and special needs of intercollegiate athletics, intramurals, and recreation. Dr. Jane Grastorf Honors Room Endowment This fund is used to purchase equipment and furnishings for the Honors Conference Room in the Chase PE Building, and help maintain the appearance and purposes of this room. Dr. Joseph Heissan Endowment This fund is used to support the CHAMPS Life Skills Program, an NCAA-sponsored program to foster total development of the student athlete in the following areas: Academics, Athletics, Career Development, Personal Development, and Community Service.
