O’Neil Receives SUNYAC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week Honor

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Oneonta men's lacrosse senior Jamie O'Neil (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) received the SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week honors for the week of April 6-12, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon. It is the first time this season O'Neil has been named the league's player of the week, and the fifth time in his career.

The Red Dragon attackman finished the week with 11 goals and six assists for 17 points, while collecting five ground balls and causing one turnover. O'Neil also broke two Oneonta program records, becoming the all-time career goals scorer in their game against Skidmore and the career points leader in their SUNYAC victory at New Paltz.

Against the Thoroughbreds, O'Neil started the week with five goals and two assists for seven points. The Bath, N.Y., native then totaled another five goals along with three assists for eight points in the Red Dragons 24-4 win over the Hawks. He capped the week off with a goal and an assist in the Battle of the Red Dragons against Cortland.

O'Neil is currently leading the conference with 40 assists and is third with 66 points. He has totaled 284 career points and only sits three points behind Cortland's Zach Hopps '16, who recorded 286 points, for most career points in SUNYAC history. O'Neil is also 15 assists away from becoming the Red Dragons career assist leader.

Oneonta (6-7, 3-1 SUNYAC) is back home for their next game on Saturday, April 18, when they face Oswego in SUNYAC play at Red Dragon Field at 1 pm.
