NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's swimming & diving team had six individual first places and one relay win in the 115-78 win over New Paltz on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Mary Bush (Binghamton, NY) won the 1,000-yard freestyle at 12:15.97, and freshman Kaidyn Thompson (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) placed second at 12:39.29. In the 200-yard freestyle, senior Alli LaBarbera (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) took first at 2:09.20, while junior Alexandria Bard (Duanesburg, NY/Duanesburg) swam a 2:13.58 for third.
Oneonta had two top-three finishers in the 50-yard freestyle. Junior Alaska Lilliock (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) took second at 27.36, and junior Krista Broussard (Chesterfield, VA/Thomas Dale) earned third at 27.72.
Freshman Sydney Richards (Rochester, NY) won the 200-yard IM at 2:27.13.
Bush continued with a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:42.59.
LaBarbera swam a 57.79 to win her second event of the day in the 100-yard freestyle. Broussard placed third with a 1:04.55
Bard placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke. Freshman Madeleine Cantwell (Buffalo, NY/Amherst Central) took third at 2:37.49.
The 500-yard freestyle saw junior Ashley Brousseau (Peru, NY/Peru Central) take second at 6:17.86. Richards recorded another win in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:45.84.
Oneonta concluded the day by winning the 400-yard freestyle relay. Bard, Bush, Lilliock, and LaBarbera won at 4:03.20.
Oneonta next competes at the SUNYAC Championships from February 18 to 21.
