ONEONTA, N.Y. - Oneonta baseball seniors Joey Dwyer (Shoreham, NY/Shoreham Wading River) and Kyle Roper (Tappan, NY/Tappan Zee) earned American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Region 3 honors for the 2025 season. Both players made the third team.
Dwyer picks up all-region honors for the second season in a row at the outfield position. He is coming off an All-SUNYAC Second Team selection after finishing the season with 43 hits, 21 RBI, and 38 runs. Dwyer hit two home runs, three triples, and eight doubles. Additionally, Dwyer led NCAA Division III with 48 stolen bases, which is a single-season program record. He also recorded a .990 fielding percentage with 99 putouts and only one error.
Roper earns his second all-region selection after being named D3baseball.com All-Region earlier in the week. Roper was the Red Dragons' starting ace with 11 appearances and a 5-1 record. He led the team with a 2.36 ERA and 1.03 WHIP, along with 42 strikeouts. The senior pitched a complete game shutout in the 19-0 win over Plattsburgh on Mar. 21. Additionally, Roper struck out seven or more batters in four games.
Oneonta reached the SUNYAC Tournament championship round and finished the season with a record of 25-17-1 overall and 9-9 in the SUNYAC.
