ATLANTA, GA - Former SUNY Oneonta women's basketball player and assistant coach Brianna Spector '17 was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA)Thirty Under 30 presented by Morgan Stanley Global Sports and Entertainment for the 2024-25 season. Spector recently completed her fourth season as the Franklin & Marshall head women's basketball coach.
The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program was created to recognize 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches aged 30 and under at all game levels. Each honoree has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship, and impact on others, as well as their professional manner, attitude, and association involvement.
Spector began her coaching career as an assistant for the Red Dragons in the 2017-18 season after a four-year playing career at Oneonta. Following Oneonta, Spector spent two seasons as the graduate assistant coach at Salisbury University. After one season as the Franklin & Marshall assistant coach assistant coach, Spector was hired as the head coach for the 2021-22 season. The Diplomats finished 15-10 in 2024-25, their highest win total since the 2011-12 season.
At Oneonta, Spector was team captain in her junior and senior years. She finished out her career playing in 20 or more games each season. During her senior campaign, she helped facilitate a third-place regular season finish.
Spector was named to the SUNYAC All-Academic Team her freshman year, followed by the SUNYAC All-Academic Team and Commissioner's List her sophomore and junior year, and ultimately, the SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll during her senior year. She was a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society.
Brianna Spector was selected in 2017 for the "So You Want To Be A Coach" program by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) held at the Final Four convention in Dallas, TX.
Spector served three years as a SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) representative for her team and served on the E-Board for SAAC during her senior year as a student-athlete.
