Oneonta women's basketball student-athletes Carlie Young and Megan Desrats named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District

Two Red Dragons Named to Women’s Basketball CSC Academic All-District Team

ONEONTA, N.Y. – Two members from the Oneonta women's basketball team earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Honors. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their performances on the court and in the classroom.

Juniors Carlie Young (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville Central) and Megan Desrats (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) were the Oneonta recipients for 2025-26. To be nominated, a student-athlete must play regularly for the team and carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Athletes who are nominated must also have participated in at least 90 percent or started at least two-thirds of the team's games.

Young is studying Exercise Science and she is carrying a 3.87 GPA. During the 2025-26 season, Young appeared and started in 26 games, while averaging 11.5 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals.

Desrats is a Business Administration major currently holding a 3.96 GPA. During this season, Desrats started in each of the 27 games she appeared in, averaging 5.5 points per game, 4.7 assists, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.0 steals.

Oneonta finished the season with an overall record of 15-12 and a record of 9-9 in the SUNYAC. The Red Dragons reached the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament.
