ONEONTA, N.Y. - Two Oneonta baseball players picked up D3Baseball.com All-Region 3 Honors on Tuesday. Senior Sean Liquori (Thiells, NY/North Rockland) and junior Logan Hutter (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West/Smithtown) both grabbed third-team honors.
Following an All-SUNYAC First Team selection, Liquori earns his first D3Baseball.com All-Region honors as a utility player. He played in all 38 games while starting 37. Liquori was second on the team with 45 hits and a .363 batting average. He led the team and was eighth in the SUNYAC with 11 doubles. Liquori added 21 runs, 27 RBI, and four stolen bases. Liquori finished the season with 14 multi-hit games.
On the mound, Liquori proved to be Oneonta's top pitcher, appearing in ten games with nine starts. He finished the year at 4-2 with a 5.12 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. He led the team by pitching 51.0 innings and striking out 48 batters while holding opponents to a .278 batting average. On Apr. 6, Liqouri pitched a complete game in the 6-1 win over Fredonia.
Hutter took All-SUNYAC First Team honors earlier this season. He led the team with 37 RBI, which ranked seventh in the SUNYAC. He batted .325 with 40 hits, seven doubles, and three triples. Hutter finished second on the team with five home runs and a .553 slugging percentage. He recorded ten games with two or more hits and stole eight bases.
